What To Expect

WILD LIFE Sydney Zoo

WILD LIFE Sydney showcases Australia's unique and bizarre flora and fauna. Take a walk on the wild side and jump into wallaby cliffs with the yellow-footed rock wallabies, or see one of Australia's national icons, the koala. Marvel at Australia's bizarre creepy crawlies or see the scales and tails of our unique reptiles. Allow yourself to be completely immersed within this world class exhibit, where animals will be living within their natural habitats and ecosystems, such as the spectacular two-storey aviary and butterfly house, the canopies of which can be seen from a distance outside the building.

We recommend that visitors allow approximately one and half hours per visit. With nine different habitats and approximately 6,000 all-Australian animals there are always new and exciting experiences at WILD LIFE Sydney.

So me and my partners travelled all the way from the U.K. to see a Platypus. After a disappointing visit to a Taronga Zoo where the exhibit was closed we tried your Wild Life centre (Darling Harbour) as one last hope. There was no sighting of the Platypus as he was having a sleep in his nest box. I asked one of the keepers ‘Jess’ who was very passionate about the zoo telephoned through to her colleague on the radio who she knew would be cleaning the Platypus enclosure. She arranged for us to meet Andrea so she could help us see the Platypus. Well she went above and beyond, she made our dream come true. She took us behind the exhibit, gave us a talk about how she cares for the Platypus and shared so much of her knowledge. Her passion and love for the Platypus and her job really shows. She allowed us to take a quiet peek at the Platypus without disturbing him. Leaving us walking away from your zoo delighted. We are so grateful Thankyou so much Jess and Andrea :-)

Accessibility to animals is good !! Managed to see almost every animal up & close (the kids were really thrilled about that)
Kangaroo talks were quite informative, with the ladies answering the questions patiently and in detail.
Overall a great experience..

New zoo with great exhibits. Animals seem engaged and were all out . All staff were friendly and helpful. 3 hours is probably enough time but had a fantastic time there. Highly recommend

Most important too many exhibits closed..Quite disappointed.a bit small too.When i went to cafe to buy drink i called a few times no one came to cashier counter thus i gave up.
