Cool full day of wine and spirits

Peter was an informative tour guide with a great sense of humour. He was flexible and adapted to guest needs. The first stop (De Iuliis winery) was by far the best. The others were good, but didn’t compare. It was a great day. Thank you Peter!!
Great value for 1 day wine tour & Hunter Valley teaser

Great 1 day tour conveniently organized from Sydney! 4 pines brewery/wine tasting and Pokolbin Estate were delicious beautiful experiences + lovely views of vineyards. The drive is not too long, wines are plenty, the guide Tom was lots of fun!)) You don't get much time/opportunity to walk at vineyards or visit lookouts, but it's a perfect tour for wine-lovers who want to have a fun easy day and get a bit of a taste of Hunter Valley
Great experience

Great experience. Well organized tour. The guide was friendly and knowledgeable. We visited some superb wineries with great selection of wines to taste.
Excellent tour in Hunter Valley

We were met by our driver/guide, Mark, on time (gotta love that) and were taken to the Hunter Valley area. En route Mark gave us lots of history and information about Sydney, a number of the areas we traveled through, and the Hunter Valley area. He told us about each winery (& the distillery) before we reached it which was helpful. Each tour was excellent & lunch was very good with a good selection of options. He stopped halfway in both directions so we could stretch our legs a bit and grab a tea or coffee. I recommend this tour as a great way to learn about some of the wines being made in this region of Australia.
A craic but expensive

Pick up and drop off was convenient and the bus ride was comfortable from Sydney. Knowledgeable and easy going driver which made the day run smoothly. It was great to drive over harbour bridge! The three wine spots were great fun, my favourite was the first where we tried 9 wines. Lunch at the second was a good portion and the cheese and wine tasting here went very quick as there was only 4 to sample. The next spot was the distillery. This was a disappointment and I would have preferred another wine spot. The staff seemed unenthusiastic and you could not sample more than 6 2ml tasters. This also would have only cost you $5 out of pocket so not worth the money here. The last spot was 5 wines paired with chocolates. I missed out on one as the Turkish delight was not vegetarian suitable.
We did also stop at two shops - the chocolate and fudge factory and the smelly cheese shop. I would of liked to have spent this time also in another wine tasting spot.
Overall we sampled 19 wines and 6 spirits.
More Wine Please

My wife and I did the small group wine and distillery tasting in the Hunter Valley. Directions provided to a pick-up location were easy to follow. Immediately from the start, out guide "Tom" was fully engaged with the entire group. He ensured every member of the tour felt welcome and was entertained. The journey to Hunter Valley was a 2 hour trip. The scenery, pours and meals made up for the length. Our only "could do better" would be more historical information on the small towns and areas we travelled through. Great tour and great guide.
Operator should use their clout at the various stops for even better experience

We had heard a lot about the Hunter Valley so took the time to go visit it when we were in Sydney. It's great that the van is a small van, for 12 people; it was full the day we went because we picked up two additional passengers who were staying out there. Everyone was really friendly which made for a good group as we moved about the the various stops.

The reason this isn't 5 star is because the operator can probably use their clout with the various wineries to better seating/service/extras.

The first stop was the best as it was wines paired with chocolates and they were generous pours, though we were standing the entire 20 minutes, but the host, Anthony, was very engaged and obliging, though he slung wine around everywhere while serving it.

The second stop, the attendant was also a great personality, though we were seated at plastic tables in a room while there were beautifully laid outdoor tables that were much more scenic; at this stop they had nothing to eat, not even to purchase, though the waitress brought me a bowl of crackers when I specifically asked if we could buy some cheese (only for members today the lady behind the counter said).
So they tour should tell us to bring nibbles or ask that we be provided with something.

The third place was for lunch and that was nice; pre-ordered to save time (but the chicken was dry) then we went upstairs for another tasting. This one had cheese and crackers but the attendant would pour and then sort of run out of the room each time to let us 'enjoy' our drink which seemed like she didn't want to be with us.

The fourth stop, a gin and vodka place, had a very engaged presenter but no mixers at all for gin or vodka, not even a club soda. This seemed really strange as then there was a range of schnapps as well. Wouldn't it make sense to offer some? Even a glass of water in between the sips. Puzzled why the outlet wouldn't spare a $2 can of soda to offset what a group spends...
Great day out if u like a relaxed wine adventure

Great day out from Sydney. Mark was really good and relaxed guide.

Booked last minute and glad we did
Ok

Wine was good
First place was lovely we tried lots of wine and chocolate.
2nd place wasn’t great the tour guide was so unenthusiastic and seemed like he didn’t even want to be there. Wine was pretty slow at coming out also.
Lunch was delicious. Wine and cheese was okay but not brilliant.
Distillery…. I won’t be going back to…
Bus driver was so sound and he was so accommodating to drop everyone off. I felt bad for him because his Aircon went but he did his best to keep us cool and gave us lots of water so well done!!!!
